Luckily, the wedding day planner with my own sister, but regrettably, cheap meant very, very cheap. She was willing to have cheap wedding decorations & a discount wedding day gown, but one way or another she was getting married traditionally - country wedding songs and all.

Even so, everything else added up to quite a bit of cash.

The toughest part was picking out wedding bridal dresses with my wife. For most of the planning, she was willing to use wedding day do it yourself tricks in order to save a bit of money now and again, but picking out her wedding dress was an absolutely awful ordeal. In the end, we ultimately decided that that would be the one area of the wedding where she could spend as much money as she needed to get what she wanted to wear. After all, there isn't any substituting for the ideal wedding dress.
